Lisa Yamin, Ed.D.-Academic Advisor, Interdisciplinary Studies

Lisa Yamin joined the Interdisciplinary Studies Program in 2021 after working in undergraduate teacher preparation programs in the College of Humanities and Sciences and School of Education since 2011. She has a background in K-12 education, but has worked in higher education for over a decade. She earned her Ed.D. in Leadership from VCU, with a concentration in higher education and a focus on post-traditional student success. She has taught courses ranging from Introduction to VCU, Career Readiness, and Leadership Studies. She is actively involved in academic advising and student success initiatives through VCU’s Academic Advising Board and through NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising.
