Audrina Farrar joined the Interdisciplinary Studies Program as an academic advisor in September 2022 after working as an elementary educator for seven years. In 2015, Audrina graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's of Interdisciplinary Studies for Elementary Education and Master's of Teaching degrees. During her time as an educator, she often engaged in diversity, equity and inclusion work. She was a member of the Henrico Elementary Coalition, Henrico Educational Equity Initiative Cohort, Henrico Black Educator Collective and served as a leader on her school’s Equity Team. As a first-generation college student, Audrina believes every student has the right to an education and is passionate about collaborating with students to overcome challenges in order to have a successful educational experience.

Audrina’s unique experience in K-12 education with diverse, multigenerational and underserved communities helps to inform her work as an academic advisor in IDS. She sees the value of interdisciplinarity, flexibility and connection with others to help students become well-rounded and impactful members of society.
