What happens when a crime occurs virtually? How can videogames help with chronic pain? How will culture evolve as more interaction takes place virtually?

The Interdisciplinary Studies Program is the home of the Mixed and Immersive Reality Studies (MIRS) minor, which provides an exciting and widely applicable overview of the technology and culture of mixed, immersive, virtual and augmented realities.

The minor is open to all students in any major at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Coursework in the MIRS minor is designed to be accessible to all students with an interest in the subject. You do not have to have a background in computer programming. Whether you are studying to become a coder, a technology reporter, an ethicist, a doctor, or any other profession, the MIRS minor is intended to provide you with broad, relevant expertise in the subject. Whether your career path involves mixed and immersive realities or you're just excited about this technology, this minor is for you.
